Rustic Farmhouse Beauty from Reclaimed Wood…..

We just started on a new venture and opened up our second Etsy store.  I have always love Farmhouse décor.  It reminds me of times past.   Farmhouse décor is making a come back.  It’s all about clean simple ways to decorate.

Welcome to our new shop The Chocolate Chicken2® Rustic Farmhouse Signs.

Each Rustic Farmhouse sign we make are one-of-a-kind, due to the nature of the wood and the distressed finish. We only use reclaimed wood. Our goal is to use wood that has been discarded and is no longer used. We try to keep the natural character of the wood. We find the wood grain, nail holes, knots, and cracks add to the simplicity and unique character of the signs.

Since all of our signs are hand-painted on wood, you will see chips, cracks, paint splashes, paint bleeds, knots, and holes. We believe this adds to the character of our items, and makes each one completely unique. No two pieces are ever the same.

All of our signs make great affordable gifts for all occasions.

Come by and Check us out.

Calling all Reese’s fans…..

Are you a Fan of Peanut Butter?  Do you have a family that’s crazy for it.  Reese’s are everywhere in this house.  My son comes home from wrestling practice and first thing he does is get a big spoonful of Peanut butter to eat while doing his chores.  I cannot keep enough peanut butter and Nutella in my house.

I have found the best recipe that is similar in flavor like a Reese’s peanut butter cups. With my family they are a big hit.  Very easy to make. You will be a hit at the next bake sale or potluck!

No Bake Peanut Butter Bars

Peanut Butter Bars
1 cup (2 sticks) salted butter, melted
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup mini Reese’s pieces

Chocolate Layer
1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
2 tablespoons peanut butter
1/4 cup mini Reese’s pieces

Prepare a 9×13 baking dish by lining with tin foil. Set aside.
Combine melted butter, graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar, peanut butter, and brown sugar. Mix together until combined.
Add in the Reese’s Pieces and stir together.
Dump into baking pan lined with foil and evenly press into the pan. Use your hands or a spatula to do this.
To make chocolate topping: combine chocolate chips and peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 1 minute at a time, stirring after 1 minute (mine took 2 minutes).
Pour on top of the peanut butter bars and smooth out. Sprinkle with some Reese’s Pieces.
Refrigerate for 1-3 hours. Lift bars out of the pan by the tin foil and cut into squares.

This recipe can easily be halved. Use a 8×8 baking pan.
The longer the bars sit out at room temperature the softer they become. Store in fridge for best results. Leave out on the counter for a few minutes to soften if wanted or eat straight from the fridge.
You can find the mini Reese’s Pieces in the baking aisle by the chocolate chips.

Handcrafted, Rustic ,Reclaimed, Reused With Love…..

We all know that farmhouse décor has become popular thanks to Joanna Gains.  We have all fallen in love with this simple, rustic design.  Our homes have never felt so warm and inviting, yet simple.

Id like you to meet Erdin owner, designer and craftsman of  Wood Creations by Dino.  Erdin make beautiful reclaimed barn wood clocks, shelving and much more.

Erdin began working with wood at an early age. From the time he was eight years old he watched his father handcraft furniture in his shop and he helped hand tools to his father as well as help sand wood.

Erdin learned all of his woodworking skills from his father.  Creating home décor and furniture out of reclaimed wood for his family home has always been a hobby.   The unique and original pieces in his home were a hit.   Soon friends and co-workers were wanting to order pieces for themselves.  With a fair price and handmade unique items everyone was left satisfied.  That’s when Erdin decided to open Wood Creations by Dino.

Stop on in and check out Wood Creations by Dino.  You will love this shop and the prices are beyond fair.
