Hemp vs. Marijuana

The first thing you should know about CBD oil is that it is completely legal in the United States as long as it is made from industrial hemp rather than marijuana.  I source my industrial hemp from a small farm in Croatia. Leaves of the hemp are harvested by hand and dried naturally. It is a fully eco – bio – organic production with green practice for fertilization. It grows in an environment surrounded by forests with clean air in the area where are no factories and highways.   It is viewed as a dietary supplement, similar to an herbal supplement such as Valerian Root which is commonly used by fibromyalgia patients to relieve insomnia and anxiety.

What will CBD oil do for my fibromyalgia?

First off remember that everyone is different. Some find CBD helps with fibromyalgia  and some find it doesn’t help.  Nonetheless, it is worth trying CBD I have found with my fibromyalgia that it helps greatly with my chronic pain, sleep, endurance, anxiety, depression, inflammation, muscle spasms and migraines. Friends of mine use the CBD oil to help control their Diabetes AC1 levels.  The first step is to find a quality product.  I decided to start making my own CBD oil.  I wanted to stop taking the opioid based medication I was on.

Knowing the Differences

Deep Conditioning Henna Shampoo with Aloe Vera and Rich French Green Clay

This Deep Conditioning Henna Shampoo- Vegan friendly – Curly Hair Shampoo Bar cleanses and restores natural oils and life to your curly hair. Rich antioxidants conditions and hydrates hair for a smooth result.

Enjoy the Benefits from Organic Henna, Organic Aloe Vera and Rich French Green Clay.

This Shampoo bar can be used for all Hair types, but I especially made this bar for the extra conditioning properties for curly dry hair.

Now lets talk Porosity-
Porosity is your hair’s ability to absorb and retain moisture, oils, or chemicals like color. Low, medium, and high are different degrees of porosity. Due to damaging habits such as mechanical manipulation and color treatment, many with curly hair deal with high porosity hair.

Henna is a natural deep conditioner that coats the hair shaft, seals in moisture and natural oils, tightens the cuticle, enhances body, adds loads of shine and makes hair silky soft.
Since henna coats the hair shaft and tightens and closes the cuticle, hair is smoother, there is less tangling, hair is stronger and more resilient, and light is better reflected which creates a vibrant shine. Henna helps soften highly textured, coarse curly hair and its natural antifungal and antibacterial properties may help with dandruff, scaly scalp and excess shedding.

Coconut Oil is a great option for penetrating the hair shaft and sealing in moisture. It comes from the flesh of mature coconuts and has a multitude of health benefits for skin and hair. Great for reducing frizz and fighting . Coconut oil is one of the first oils someone with damaged hair should try.

Shea butter is a all-natural plant based butter. It is very nutritious since it contains lot of vitamins like A,E,K and F. Shea butter is rich in fatty acids (that’s vitamin F) that makes it a super duper sealant.

Castor oil has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties and is high in Vitamin E, minerals, proteins, and Omega 6 and 9 beneficial fatty acids. Its unusually high ricinoleic acid ratio makes it beneficial to skin and hair.
Castor oil can be used on the scalp to help prevent and remedy hair loss and it is effective at this for several reasons. It’s antibacterial and anti fungal properties make it beneficial against follliculitus, dandruff and scalp infections and its ricinoleic acid content helps increase circulation to the scalp and improve hair growth.
Ricinoleic acid is also said to help balance scalp pH which can also help replenish the scalp’s natural oils and undo some of the damage of harsh chemical hair products (and even damage from no-poo, due to over alkalinity). The antioxidants in castor oil also support the keratin in hair and help make hair stronger, smoother and less frizzy.

Avocados are high in vitamins B and E, which work at the cellular level to protect and strengthen hair. Vitamin B is essential for hair growth. Vitamin E helps repair damage on the scalp, which may slow or prevent hair growing. Healthy hair grows half an inch every month. Using avocado in a conditioner or as a hair mask are the best ways to promote regular hair growth.

Aloe vera contains vitamins A, C, and E. All three of these vitamins contribute to cell turnover, promoting healthy cell growth and shiny hair. Vitamin B-12 and folic acid are also contained in aloe vera gel. Both of these components can keep your hair from falling out.
Aloe vera cleanses the hair follicle efficiently, stripping off extra sebum (oil) and residue from other hair products. But aloe vera doesn’t hurt your hair strands while it cleans. Unlike other chemicals in hair products, aloe vera is gentle and preserves the integrity of your hair.
Using aloe vera is a great way to get hair that looks healthier, shinier, and softer.

French Green Clay, Also known as sea clay, French green clay contains a variety of healing elements, including magnesium, calcium, and potassium, among others. It is often used in spa treatments, including facials and body masks, because it is great for removing dead skin cells.
The clay can also be used to cleanse oily hair types—it will draw dirt, oils, and toxins from the hair.

To create this shampoo bar, The Chocolate Chicken uses natural ingredients. Each bar of shampoo bar is made with saponified oils ( Organic Coconut oil, Sustainable Palm, Castor Oil, Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Shea butter, Canola Oil, Organic Avocado, Essential oils and fragrance) Henna Powder, Aloe Vera Powder and French Green Clay.

All of our shampoo bars are handmade in small batches and are paraben, silicone, sulfate free.

If you’re new to shampoo bars, you may notice that your hair behaves differently at first. It is normal for your hair to go through a transition period when switching from liquid shampoos to solid bar shampoos which don’t strip the scalp as liquid shampoos do. It will be different for everyone – anywhere from one week to a month. Some people never notice a transition period at all.

Our henna shampoo bars are not as strong as a pure henna treatment.
We have had a number of people with dyed hair use our henna bars without any problems.
That being said, all hair and hair dye is not created equal…so to be safe, try a test strand before using on your whole head.

Perfect for traveling especially by airline.

Dimensions: 3″diameter 1″thick weight 4 oz.
All of our bars are hand cut, size and color may vary.

Family Values and Nothing Wasted

Hi there! First off, if you’ve come looking for chocolate covered chicken nuggets, I’m afraid you’re gonna be a little disappointed. We’ve named our shop after one of our beloved Buff Orpington chickens. That’s right! She’s the prettiest little brown chicken, sweet as pie, and a fine egg layer. Don’t you worry, though, you’re still in the right place. I’m sure you’ll find something around here that you’ll like even more than a chocolate chicken nugget. (You know chickens don’t have actual nuggets, right?)

I grew up in a small mountain rancher’s community in Colorado where I learned how to use the resources around me, not waste anything, and work hard. It taught me so much more than just how to preserve and prepare everything under the sun, but also how to appreciate the little things, and not take a single moment for granted.

Now that I’m a grown woman with a family of my own, I’m passing down all those principles to the next generation. Work hard. Be kind. Say please and thank you. Everything you’d expect from a good, God-fearing family. So Etsy is a fine way for me to use a resource for the better good of my home. I started making soaps as a hobby and soon enough the house was full of it. I was giving it away to everyone and their cousin. And then my husband and I realized that if I could sell eggs from my chickens, I could sell soap from my cupboard. No need to give it all away, though I still do to the folks I love.

Nowadays, I’m working on on my new line of Hemp Salves, my husband and my son are involved in the business, too. My husband, known as “Dan the Man” makes all my soap molds, and my son helps me package and ship. In fact, it was my boy that recommended we call ourselves The Chocolate Chicken. We’ve even got the name trademarked. We’re definitely a family business, built on cooperation, love, and yes, chickens. So, have a look around, and help yourself to a handful of good old country homemade, waste-not-want-not, special made soap and shampoo products, made with commitment to quality over quantity and an abundance of love.
